Summary
The incidence of leisure travel among U.S. consumers decreased sharply in 2020. Travelers took shorter trips and fewer of them due to various travel challenges and restrictions. Travel product consumption took a marked hit in 2020, as the impact of the
coronavirus pandemic affected all segments in a variety of ways. Still, more than three in five travelers plan to take a trip in 2021, as the impact of the pandemic eases. Part of the U.S. Consumer Travel Report 2021 series, this report highlights
the products and purchase habits that consumers will return to as travel restrictions are eased and travelers feel fully comfortable resuming their earlier leisure travel behavior.
