Many hoteliers believe Airbnbs and hotels appeal to two different types of travelers. After all, these accommodation choices offer very different experiences. However, recent Phocuswright research strongly suggests that it is becoming quite common for travelers to have preference for both Airbnb and traditional lodging.

Airbnb renters, like most travelers, are open to a wide variety of accommodation options when planning trips – not just Airbnbs.
