April 28 Think Tank: Loyalty
89% of travelers belong to at least one loyalty program (airline, hotel, OTA, cruise or car rental). Pre-COVID, loyalty members were especially avid travelers, spending more and traveling more frequently than non-members each year. In 2019, 59% of loyalty members took three or more trips per year, and three in five spent more than $2,000 annually on leisure travel. But now, amid severely reduced travel, can brands rely on these programs and feel confident that travelers will remain loyal? Or do loyalty programs need to be revisited?
