Mr. Bowerman is an experienced Asia travel, tourism and consumer trends analyst. Based in Kuala Lumpur since 2010, he previously lived and worked in Shanghai. A member of the World Tourism Network and Mekong Tourism Advisory Group, Gary has worked with leading hotel groups, tourism boards, OTAs and travel organizations.
He has produced white papers on the travel economies of South East Asia, Australia, China, India, Japan, Myanmar, Malaysia, Laos and Macau, plus a two-year retrospective of Ctrip/Trip.com. He is author of The New Chinese Traveler: Business Opportunities from the Chinese Travel Revolution, published in 2014, and co-hosts The South East Asia Travel Show, a weekly travel industry podcast.
