Cees Bosselaar Director, Business Development and Destination Marketing Specialist
As director, business development, Mr. Bosselaar is responsible for the expansion of PhoCusWright's industry standard syndicated and custom research business. In addition, Cees specializes in destination marketing and helping DMOs worldwide formulate and hone successful strategies. Cees joined PhoCusWright in February 2007 and is a 20-year veteran in the travel industry. He has wide-ranging, global experience in the air, hotel, car, cruise, and DMO segments. Prior to joining PhoCusWright, Cees served as vice president, marketing and sales in the international division of StarCite, the global meeting and event management company. Other previous positions were vice president, business development at Uniworld (Luxury River Cruises) in Los Angeles and director, North America for the Netherlands Board of Tourism in New York. He holds a BS degree in Marketing from the Hogeschool van Arnhem en Nijmegen (The Netherlands) and an MBA degree in International Management from the Golden Gate University, San Francisco.
Trish Buyer Financial/Operational Controller
Ms. Buyer is responsible for all finance and administration functions within PhoCusWright. She has over twenty years' experience in operations and accounting management. Prior to joining PhoCusWright, Trish oversaw retail operations for the Ethan Allen organization. She graduated from the College of William and Mary with a BS in Mathematics and received her MBA in Accounting from Western Connecticut State University. Trish resides in Sherman.
Rebecca Callahan Director, Client Services
Rebecca Callahan has 10 years of travel and hospitality experience, from both the vendor and agency side. She began her career on property with Starwood Hotels & Resorts and has had the opportunity to work with Global Hyatt and TIG Global prior to joining the PhoCusWright team. Her expertise is in online marketing within the travel industry as well as account and project management. She received her undergraduate degree in English and Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and her MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
Kimberly Campetti Manager, Events
Ms. Campetti joined PhoCusWright in 2004 as a database coordinator and office manager. In her current role, Kimberly has many responsibilities, including managing the development of the conference programs and coordinating the speakers at each event. Prior to PhoCusWright, Kimberly attended Western Connecticut State University and graduated with a BA in Marketing. When she's not working, Kimberly enjoys traveling. She currently splits her life between living in Sherman, CT and New York City.
Pam Carey Senior Manager, Marketing
As manager, marketing, Mrs. Carey keeps PhoCusWright's communications with the outside world rolling. Pam's many responsibilities include website upkeep, liaising with the creative agency and advertising vendors, managing the development of marketing materials and messages, distributing information, coordinating communications so that clients keep abreast of new reports and happenings at PhoCusWright. She does a great job in keeping the multiple tasks for each project organized and on time to better serve all client needs. Pam enjoys the opportunities to improve her skills - and learn many new ones - at PhoCusWright.
Elizabeth Cepeda Manager, Research Operations
As manager, research operations, Ms. Cepeda oversees the editing, production, and scheduling process for publications and maintains analyst relations. She has a BA in English and Communications from Seton Hall University in New Jersey and holds an MS in Tourism and Travel Management from New York University. Elizabeth lives in the New York City metro area.
Pete Comeau Senior Director, Sales
Mr. Comeau joined the PhoCusWright team in November, 2007. As senior director, sales, Pete is responsible for managing the research sales team and growing PhoCusWright's syndicated, custom, and multi-client research sales globally. He is also assigned to further increase PhoCusWright's growing brand awareness through research and report sales to companies within the financial service industry, including investment banks, venture capital firms, hedge funds and consultancies. Comeau has worked in the travel and hospitality industry for over 12 years, most recently as a relationship manager at Orbitz Worldwide in Chicago, where he assisted in growing and managing accounts for the white label division. Prior to Orbitz, Comeau was the sales manager at Moguls Mountain Travel, a ski tour wholesaler in Boulder, CO. He helped design, implement and maintain four reservation systems during his tenure and managed and mentored a team of successful sales agents. Comeau holds an MBA from Daniels College of Business and graduated magna cum laude from Bowdoin College with a degree in government and economics.
Debra Cortese Manager, Events
Ms. Cortese joined PhoCusWright in 2005 after tagging along as a helping hand at the 2004 conference in Hollywood. Debbie coordinates every aspect of each event sponsorship and exhibition - from concept to deliverables. Debbie works tirelessly to ensure that clients' needs are met and that their experience as a PhoCusWright sponsor/exhibitor is a positive and seamless one. Prior to her current position she was a certified marketing representative for A Second Opinion in New Jersey where she lives with her husband and two teenage daughters.
Marcello Gasdia Consumer Research Analyst
Mr. Gasdia joins PhoCusWright with a background in applied market research. With an emphasis on quantitative methodology, Marcello applies skills that are fundamental to PhoCusWright's consumer research projects including research design and implementation, statistical analysis and meaningful dissemination. Marcello holds an MS degree in Applied Social Research from the City University of New York: Hunter College where his research focused on consumer behavior and the impact of technology on service sector markets.
Lori Harris Senior Manager, PhoCusWright and Travel Weekly Events
Ms. Harris plays a central role in executing an unparalleled event for PhoCusWright customers. Registration system coordination, customer interface, Web page development, press requests, on-site coordination and post event duties are just snapshots of Lori's responsibilities. She assists clients from the beginning of the relationship until the conclusion of the event. No stranger to the travel industry, Lori previously held a management role at Continental Airlines. She lives in Sherman, CT with her three sons.
Colie Hoffman Senior Research Editor
Ms. Hoffman joined the PhoCusWright team in 2007 as a research associate and editor for company publications. Colie has over a decade of writing, editing and research experience. She holds a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an MA in English from North Carolina State University, and an MFA in poetry from Hunter College. Colie lives in Millbrook, New York.
Deepak Jain Research Analyst, Data and Analytics
Mr. Jain serves on PhoCusWright's Asia Pacific team. His research and analytics skills make him an essential part of many research projects including PhoCusWright's Emerging Online Travel Marketplace in China, PhoCusWright's Social Media in Travel, PhoCusWright's Indian Online Travel Overview and more. Deepak is an engineering graduate from Bhopal University and also holds post graduate diploma in advanced computing.
Virendra Jain Senior Manager, Business Development, Asia Pacific
Virendra is responsible for sales of PhoCusWright's products and services in Asia Pacific. Prior to joining PhoCusWright, Virendra served as the head, marketing and press relations for leading training institutes in India. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Holkar Science College (India) and an MBA with dual specialization in Marketing (major) and Finance (minor) from DAVV University (Indore).
David Juman Senior Manager, Editorial and Content Development
Mr. Juman is a publishing and online content management specialist with broad experience in business writing and editing, editorial strategy and product development. In addition to having held editorial positions with Simon & Schuster and several business publishers, David was managing editor of the Official Tour Directory and has provided editorial consulting services to numerous companies in the U.S., the U.K., India and elsewhere. He writes and edits a variety of PhoCusWright materials, including articles, reports, white papers, presentations, press releases and other corporate communications. David has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Cornell University, and is currently based in New York City.
Florence Kaci Director, Sales, EMEA and European Market Specialist
Based in London, Ms. Kaci heads research sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, spreading knowledge of the company's products and services, and creating partnerships. Florence speaks at a variety of industry events across Europe and Eastern Europe on travel distribution trends that are changing the way consumers search, shop, buy and share travel. Prior to joining PhoCusWright, a position with REZSolutions - soon to become Pegasus Solutions - brought Florence from France to London. She held various hotel and distribution roles within Pegasus dealing with implementation, in-service delivery, sales, account management, increasing the Internet distribution channels portfolio and transaction volume, and connecting hotel groups in Europe with OTAs to improve partnerships. Most recently, Florence was director, sales and account management (supply and demand) for the EMEA region with Pegasus. Florence's previous experience includes Starwood in Paris, a hotel group in Mauritius and the French Tourism government office in New York City. She holds an MBA in tourism (management) from the ESCAET.
Chetan Kapoor Research Analyst, Asia Pacific
Mr. Kapoor joined the PhoCusWright research team in February 2010 to fulfill his desire to track online travel trends firsthand. Prior to joining PhoCusWright, Chetan reported on various aspects of the industry for nearly three years, including attending a number of local and international trade shows, conferences and interviewing key people of the trade, and was a journalist for Express TravelWorld, a leading Indian travel trade publication. A Bachelor of Mass Media graduate from the University of Mumbai (Bombay), Chetan enjoys jogging and has participated in the Mumbai Half Marathon since 2008. His other interests include meeting new people, discovering new cultures and cuisines, photography, reading up on social media and new technologies, treks and, of course, traveling.
Eugene Ko Manager, Digital Marketing
Mr. Ko has taken on various roles at PhoCusWright; he has interned for the research and events departments, assisted the database and sales teams and worked on a number of marketing projects. In his newest role as manager, digital marketing, Eugene focuses on customer engagement via the digital space. He is the talent behind the video, social media campaigns and other online marketing projects. Eugene is a New York University graduate with a BS in Hospitality and Tourism Management. He loves exploring the culinary options of his New York City neighborhood, and supports Philadelphia sports teams.
Jennifer Lavenhar Senior Manager, Event Sales
Ms. Lavenhar joined the PhoCusWright event sales team in April 2010. She has extensive experience in the conference sponsorship industry and has honed her skills with fortune 500 companies. She is responsible for opening dialogues with new clients and developing business opportunities for The PhoCusWright Conference. Ms. Lavenhar moved to PhoCusWright after seven years as the sponsorship director with Euromoney/IMN and previous client related and marketing roles. She splits her time between her home office and PhoCusWright's NYC and Sherman offices. Jennifer shares her life with her husband and two young boys, who all love to travel. She studied Theater at UMASS and Art History/Media Studies at NYU.
Bing Liu Senior Analyst, Consumer Research
With over a decade of experience in consumer and marketing research, Mr. Liu contributes his expertise to customer engagement, segmentation and decision process analysis for PhoCusWright's research publications and custom client engagements. Before joining PhoCusWright, Bing worked with Gallup Inc. in Southern China as director of consulting and research analytics, helping clients develop marketing strategies and consumer insight. Prior to that role, he was with Gallup in California as senior research analyst, designing and implementing consumer studies across different industries and geographies. Bing holds a MS degree in Survey Research and Methodology from University of Nebraska.
Tahnee Perry Group Marketing Director
Ms. Perry leads the marketing team and guides their efforts to implement innovative campaigns. Tahnee is responsible for driving the marketing for PhoCusWright Research and The PhoCusWright Conference. She is also responsible for product and website analysis, marketing automation and digital technologies. Prior to PhoCusWright, Tahnee spent eight years working with the Aspen/Snowmass ski resort - first as the senior sales manager for the Aspen Skiing Company and then as the director, marketing and technology at Stay Aspen Snowmass. In both roles, she developed innovative sales and marketing efforts and aligned community efforts to increase skier numbers. Tahnee graduated from the University of Canberra in Australia with a BA in Communications and moved to the United States in 2002. She now lives in Brooklyn and runs most days in Prospect Park.
Catherine Plummer Senior Director, Events
Mrs. Plummer joined PhoCusWright in 1999 as a part-time associate in the accounting department before joining the events team full time the following year. In her current position, she directs sales and operations for all PhoCusWright events. In addition to managing event production, logistics and vendor relations, she oversees event sales. Prior to joining PhoCusWright, she worked in the commercial construction and restoration industry while raising a family. Cathy graduated from Upsala College with a BA in Finance and Business Management.
Douglas Quinby Principal Analyst
Mr. Quinby is a travel industry veteran who enhances PhoCusWright's research team with his keen insights, diligent analysis and industry relationships. He is a key contributor to The Global Edition, Special Projects and Custom Research, and oversees The Asia Pacific Edition. Douglas has been designing and leading PhoCusWright research for many years, including PhoCusWright's U.S. and Asia Pacific Online Travel Overview publications. He has led several seminal studies on social media and traveler reviews, travel agencies, the vacation rental markets in the U.S. and Europe, the local tours and activities market, global distribution systems and more. Douglas is a recognized expert on online travel and travel distribution and is frequently cited in leading media outlets including Bloomberg, CNN, The New York Times, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post. He is also a sought-after speaker and moderator, and has presented PhoCusWright research at numerous travel industry events around the world.
Prior to joining PhoCusWright, Douglas led his own firm providing strategic research, communications and marketing services to travel technology companies. He has also served as director, marketing and communications for Atinera and as packaged travel and technology editor for Leisure Travel News. Douglas is a graduate of Oberlin College and Conservatory of Music.
Maggie Rauch Research Analyst
Contributing to syndicated reports, Special Projects and custom research, Ms. Rauch's reporting background, writing ability, industry knowledge and international experience are a great asset to PhoCusWright's global research. Maggie has a decade of experience in journalism and travel industry reporting. Most recently, she was part of the China TravelDaily team and has also served as Beijing correspondent for TTG Asia, a leading travel trade publication in the region. Before heading off to China to learn Chinese and live there as a journalist for several years, Maggie spent five years working in editorial roles for Incentive and Meeting News. She holds a Bachelor's degree in magazine journalism from Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism.
Cat Reith Sr. Account Manager
Ms. Reith keeps the research team and its various assignments well organized with her project management expertise in addition to taking great care of many clients. Her previous positions include director, sales with On Location Tours, where she managed all group and wholesale accounts for the company; and senior account manager with John Wiley and Sons, where she sold and maintained the WileyPLUS homework management program. Cat completed her undergraduate degree in Communications and her MS in Tourism and Travel Management at NYU. After ten years in New York City, she decided it was time to make a big change and now resides in Colorado - closer to the ski slopes.
Cathy Schetzina Communications Director/Sr. Research Analyst
Ms. Schetzina plays dual roles on the PhoCusWright team, contributing to both marketing and research efforts. As director, communications, Cathy oversees marketing communications for all PhoCusWright products, provides writing leadership, and manages the company's public relations strategy. As senior analyst, Cathy contributes to a range of research efforts as author and editor, including PhoCusWright's Online Traffic and Conversion Report, and PhoCusWright's Mobile: The Next Platform for Travel. Cathy joined PhoCusWright in 2005 to launch The PhoCusWright Research Subscription: Technology Edition (now The Innovation Edition). Cathy gained travel industry expertise as editor of the trade newsletter, Travel Distribution Report, where she produced news and analysis on travel distribution and technology. She is a cum laude graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received her MA in English from North Carolina State University, where her research focused on technology and culture.
Diane Shuart Director, Research Operations
Mrs. Shuart joined PhoCusWright in 1998 to assist in building the company's internal processes. As director, research operations, Diane maintains efficiency by ensuring clients' custom research needs are met from concept to deliverables. She coordinates and supports analysts' activities across all aspects of the research cycle. Living in New Jersey with her husband and two children, Diane is very involved in her community.
Lorraine Sileo Vice President, Research
Lorraine Sileo is vice president, research, at PhoCusWright Inc., a division of the company she launched in 1998. PhoCusWright's global marketplace intelligence is the industry standard for segmentation, sizing, forecasting, trends, analysis and consumer travel planning behavior. She is quoted frequently in consumer and trade media and has authored numerous publications (including PhoCusWright's U.S. Online Travel Overview reports. Lorraine has testified at hearings held by the National Commission to Ensure Consumer Information and Choice in the Airline Industry, charged by Congress to examine the impact of online distribution on the travel industry. Lorraine was previously an adjunct professor at New York University's Graduate Center for Hospitality, Tourism and Sports Management. She has analyzed the business and consumer electronics marketplace for various publications and media companies for over 20 years.
Haruo Ushiba Deputy Representative Director and Principal Analyst
With more than 40 years of experience in the Japanese travel industry, Mr. Ushiba will broaden PhoCusWright's reach into Asia. Along with analysis of the Japanese travel marketplace, Haruo will also increase PhoCusWright's brand awareness in the region with syndicated and custom research sales. He is a founding member of the Japan Aviation Management Research (JAMR), whose aim is to look into the future of the airline business as it enters a new era of globalization. Haruo has been in various management positions with JAL Group throughout his career. He holds a BA in Commerce from Keio University.
