varying levels of online travel maturity across the region, online travel
agencies (OTAs) continue to make deeper inroads in Asia Pacific. Alongside
global powerhouses Expedia and Priceline, local OTAs such as Ctrip, MakeMyTrip
and others continue to expand in the region, tapping into the potent demand.
Meanwhile, metasearch players including Qunar, Kayak and Skyscanner have moved
beyond the pure referral business and begun blending in transactions to pursue
higher revenue. This report examines OTAs across the APAC region, highlighting
recent performance, key players and trends driving change in the category, and
outlook for the near future.
