Rod Cuthbert, Viator CEO, founded the company in 1995, originally building websites for travel companies, later shifting focus to assembling the largest selection of global destination activities online, enabling consumers to research and book with confidence before they travel. Cuthbert has created the concept of turning "tourists" into "travelers" by providing one-stop access to a global selection of destination activities with an unrivalled depth and breadth, enabling the consumer to truly explore and experience their destination rather than simply skimming the surface. He recently led Viator through two rounds of financing totaling $10 million, and the acquisition in May 2006 of Las Vegas-based LookTours.
