Tom RomaryTom is president and CEO of Yapta, and is a co-founder. He has 20 years of experience in marketing and general management in consumer businesses. Most recently, he served as vice president of marketing at Alaska Airlines, where he ran the award-winning "Mileage Plan," ran Alaska Air Vacations, and launched innovative products like the digEplayer in-flight movie player. Prior to Alaska Air, he was vice president of consumer marketing at Real Networks in Seattle where he launched the company's music subscription business. Earlier in his career, Tom worked with Yapta co-founder Brett Allsop at Fogdog.com in the Bay Area, serving as vice president of marketing and helping lead the online sporting goods retailer to its IPO in 1999. He has a broad background in brand and product management having also worked for Electronic Arts/Disney (kids educational software) and General Mills (kids fruit snacks). Tom has an engineering degree from Duke University and an MBA from Harvard. He is an avid traveler and outdoors enthusiast, and has climbed Mt. McKinley in Alaska and 27,000 foot Cho Oyu in the Himalayas. He lives in Seattle with his wife and three boys.
