Scott HoweScott leads the microsoft advertising business group, comprised of teams responsible for business strategy, product planning, product marketing, business development and overall management of the advertising businesses across regions. In his role, he oversees the online advertiser (e.g. premium site reserve, ad networks, advertiser tools, advergaming and interactive television) and online publisher (e.g. media syndication, technology and platforms) businesses. Scott joined Microsoft in 2007 through Microsoft’s acquisition of aQuantive and is a seasoned veteran in the online advertising space. From 1999 through 2007, Scott served in a variety of roles at aQuantive, first as the vice president and general manager of online advertising agency Avenue A|Razorfish and later as president of Atlas International and founder and president of DRIVE Performance Media (DRIVEpm). Under Scott’s leadership, DRIVEpm quickly established itself as one the world’s largest ad networks and now has operations in more than 10 countries. Scott has authored numerous articles on online advertising and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, but above all – he enjoys spending time with clients. Prior to Microsoft and aQuantive, Scott spent six years with the Boston Consulting Group and two years in investment banking with Kidder, Peabody and Co. Scott holds an MBA from Harvard graduate school of business and an AB from Princeton University in economics.
