To the surprise of many, including some of us at PhoCusWright, Kayak's IPO got done last week - and at the very good price a share, followed quickly by a spike that has brought the price up (as of July 30) The deal comes at the end of one of the longest pre-IPO journeys in memory: While the usual path from filing to offering is three or four months, Kayak first filed in November 2010, during The PhoCusWright Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona. So, is this a good thing?
