Hotel stays were the most popular component with U.S. online leisure travel buyers in 2007.

Despite increased rates and developing economic pressures last year, hotel was the top component purchased overall, according to the recently released report, The PhoCusWright Consumer Travel Trends Survey Tenth Edition.

This growth is ascribed to several factors, including consumers' need for a change in venue to disengage while vacationing and their ability to find deals, rich content and more unique hotel options available online.
