THE PHOCUSWRIGHT BUSINESS TRAVEL TRENDS SURVEY SECOND EDITION
REPORT, August 2007 show abstract
As travel providers aggressively seek to improve customer retention, it is apparent that they are trying to build wallet share; that is, to obtain more of a corporation’s spend – be it for transient travel, meetings, leisure travel or other types of corporate procurement spend. It is unclear, however, if this is being driven more by corporations or by suppliers/ technology providers. With procurement at the helm, clearly streamlined, automated processes are critical to ensure compliance with the auditing and reporting requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. And, its (procurement) discipline is also forcing travel decision makers to optimize or leverage spend with suppliers across as many categories as possible. This means not just air, hotel and car, but also miscellaneous travel and entertainment (T&E) expenses as well. This also means not just transient, but group and, yes, even leisure travel.
What are the implications for suppliers, intermediaries and technology providers? This report delves into these and other questions using the results of The PhoCusWright Business Travel Trends Survey Second Edition .
